WINTER TOURS

mid December – March
Half Hour Dog Sled Ride
– Alaskan lifestyle experience; a sled dog ride through the frozen Alaska landscape.

This is your bucket list experience.

The dogs will be barking from excitement when we are hooking up. Once we pull the hook, we will quietly slide along, pulled by authentic Alaskan Husky power. There will be plenty of time for photo opportunities and patting the dogs. A must do trip, while you are in Alaska.

You can sit in the basket or stand on the so called tag sled.

Dog Sled Mushing School and Ride and the Flower Kennel and Homestead Tour
– Alaskan lifestyle experience; off-grid living with sled dogs.

Welcome to our home.
The dogs are part of the lifestyle and not only provide opportunities to explore Alaska, but also the much needed workforce around the homestead. You will meet each dog individual and learn about their differences and the care and training they need, to excel in their work and life.

We will warm up inside our off-grid dry cabin (no utility connections or running water) and you will see first hand what it takes to run all the systems needed to live this way. We live a sustainable, subsistence life as much as possible.

After helping harnessing the dogs, we will load them up in the trailer and drive to a nearby trail head. You will be helping hooking the dogs up in the team. After all the excitement we glide into silence and will only hear the dogs paws padding on the snow. You will be riding the runners of the tag sled, or can sit in the basket of the main sled.

The Flower Kennel and Homestead Tour
– Alaskan lifestyle experience; off-grid living with sled dogs.

Welcome to our home.
When visiting the homestead the dogs will welcome you with their bark. The dogs are part of the lifestyle and not only provide opportunities to explore Alaska, but also the much needed hauling muscles around the homestead. You will meet each dog individual and learn about their differences and the care and training they need, to excel in their work and life.

You will be shown around in our off-grid dry cabin (no utility connections or running water) and will see first hand what it takes to run all the systems needed to live this way. We live a sustainable, subsistence life as much as possible, and it takes some effort to get food (and fish for the dogs) on the table.

This is a real Alaska lifestyle experience.
